Philosophy

“Life can only be understood backwards, but it must be lived forward.”

- Kierkegaard

Therapy only works when it is an interactive process where the client and therapist actively work together on mutually identified goals. In my practice, I provide therapy to children, adolescents, individuals, couples, and families and specialize in anxiety, depression, school, and social difficulties. And in every relationship, I create an environment in which a client can feel safe and comfortable in order to develop the trust that is so crucial in therapy.

My clients know that they will be heard, understood, and validated. Therapy always starts with listening, but I go beyond that to help clients see how their actions contribute to the challenges they face. Equally important, I also help clients discover and celebrate the strength that exists within each of them. That way we can work together toward a more positive approach to life as a whole and not just one specific issue.

Interactive discussions are a fundamental part of my approach to therapy. This allows clients to develop meaningful insight into their behavior. I employ a variety of methods, including psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral modalities, to help explore themes that may be negatively impacting a client. Collaboratively, I work with each client to help them develop a greater understanding of themselves so they can improve the quality of their relationships.
